Dear Parent,
We will be transferring the operation of the of the Pullenvale State School Outside School Hours Care to a PCYC Service. Over the Christmas Holidays we will be modifying the centre slightly and launching PCYC School Care in 2009.
The aim of our program is to ensure children have a fun and interesting time whilst in our care.
PCYC conducts School Age Care at various schools throughout the State. Inala PCYC operates out of Oxley and Chapel Hill State Schools as well as the PCYC Club.
With today’s expectations placed on working families we provide a safe centre for children with a quality program. As a not for profit Community Organisation our primary focus is the children, their health and happiness.
As this is a new service for us there will be many changes and improvements as we develop the centre. We have high expectations of our staff and the service to provide your family with quality care. I encourage you to contact myself or the onsite staff with any questions, suggestions or concerns.
Staff
Staff who want to stay will be retained and receive training and support during the break. We are hoping to identify a new coordinator who will set the direction of the centre with increased support from the PCYC.
Staff will also job share with the Chapel Hill Centre. Vacation Care will be initially offered a Chapel Hill but our long term goal is to reopen Pullenvale Vacation Care. Staff from Pullenvale will work at Chapel Hill on Vacation Care to ensure children are known and welcomed.
Parents Committee
PCYC will continue working with the School Age Care Parents Committee to assist in the direction of the centre and monitoring the quality of the program. A Parents Committee will meet monthly with the coordinators and PCYC. If you are interested in becoming a member of the parents committee please speak to one of the staff as additional parents are needed.
Payments
Payments can only be made by electronic transfer through Ezi Debit as processing payments takes staff away from the care of children. Once you have submitted your forms, you will be issued with a notification of fixed fortnightly payments. During the term adjustments may be made due to extra bookings or cancellations. If you use the service casually the amount debited will vary. EFTPOS will no longer be available as this takes staff away from the care of your child.
Hours of Operation and Fees
Before School Care 6:30am – 9:00am $10
After School Care 3:00pm – 6:00pm $14
Vacation Care 6:30 am – 6:00pm $40 at Chapel Hill State School
If you are eligible for Child Care Benefit (CCB) then you will receive Federal Government assistance with fees.
PCYC membership
Participating children are required to be members of the PCYC. Children’s Membership is $20.00 for the 2009 calendar year and can be used at all Queensland PCYCs.
Cancellation Policy
We want to ensure as many children as possible can access the service hence the following relates to bookings:
- Book only the days you require
- Places cancelled more then forty-eight hours in advance will not incur a fee.
- Places cancelled less than forty-eight hours in advance will incur full fee unless a medical certificate is supplied.
- If your child/ren are not at the school at time of pick up then you will be charged full fee and an additional $5 per phone call to locate the children will be charged to your account. We need to ensure children’s safety and limit non attendances.
Medication, Dietary Requirements
If your child requires medication whilst at the service or specific dietary requirements please inform the staff upon enrolment.
