Badminton

The Inala PCYC Badminton Club welcomes all to try their hand at badminton.
Badminton is a very dynamic sport and those with quick reflexes and finesse will benefit against a very sharp shuttle.

GAME TIMES:

The Tuesday and Sunday night games commence at 7:00pm, and finish at 9:00pm.

AGE AND GENDER OF PLAYERS:

There is no minimum age to play badminton, as long as you are ready to run after a shuttle with intention to take a swipe at it!
We currently have an average of 22 players playing mixed doubles.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PLAYERS:

Please advise beforehand if you intend to play as we are in the process of starting up comps. To enable all to have a fair go at the game, we are also introducing the following grading system.
Group I: Typically competition C-grades. Games played. Group II: Those who are intermediates. Games played. Group III: Beginners. Options of practise time or games played.
We also encourage all to register their names and emails so if any changes arise then we can notify them ASAP. NB: do not afraid to come along the night anyway...
We DEFINITELY will be able to accommodate for you, however you may not be able to play against all players.

EQUIPMENT AND ATTIRE:

All players are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, as you will have to be able to 'cover the court' quite quickly.
Racquets are provided but are quite crap quality so it is encouraged that you bring your own...

NUMBER OF PLAYERS:

There are currently 4 badminton courts and we are anticipating to increase that number to 8 if we can get the lines marked in the other hall.
There is usually 4 groups of 4 players playing at any one time on a rotational basis. You will get at least 3-4 games.
However, before the lines do get marked at the beginning of the year, we should be able to use the courts to practise anyway if it's free.

COST:

$6 a week as a member payable to PCYC
Plus $2 a week for shuttle costs payable to the badminton club.

Annual PCYC membership fee:

For insurance purposes all players must be a member of the PCYC to participate in activities. $27.50 currently.
